Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili says he held “very good” talks with the UN nuclear agency chief on various nuclear issues.

"We had very good talks with [Yukiya] Amano today and, God willing, we will have good cooperation in the future," Jalili told reporters after his meeting with the visiting director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Tehran on Monday.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is among the main supporters of the idea of [nuclear] disarmament at an international level, fight against the proliferation of nuclear weapons and peaceful use of nuclear energy for the NPT (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) signatories,” he added.

He said Iran is an active member of the IAEA and emphasized that Tehran’s capabilities in these three fields would prepare a proper ground for bilateral cooperation to consolidate the agency and to make it more effective in pursuing those goals.
