Germany’s Haleh gallery holds an exhibition of artworks of three contemporary Iranian artists in the state of Bayern.

The show, entitled the 'Movement,' displays the works of Abolfazl Lireh, Kourosh Qazimorad and Shervin Pashaie, ISNA reported.

The exhibition, which kicked off on June 29, is aimed at building a bridge between the oriental tradition of calligraphy and ornamental art and occidental present.

Lireh’s artworks, a combination of traditional writing and painting, are inspired by musical tunes leading to melodiously swinging compositions.

The tension between formal limitation and recitation characterize Qazimorad’s letter- pictures on plain white paper or canvas that concentrate on the pure, graphic presence of writing.

Pashaie’s artworks were evidently drawn from the pictorial inventory of western art. His works are also combined with traditional Persian writing.

The three Iranian artists have so far held several exhibitions in Iran and some other countries.

The Movement exhibition is scheduled to run until August 30.
