Over 600 thousand people are engaged in South Pars gas field activities directly and indirectly, Managing Director of Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Mousa Souri said.

Souri told the oil ministry's website that "680 trillion rial of projects are underway in the South Pars gas field that is an unprecedented figure compared with recent years".

On ways of funding South Pars gas field projects, Souri said, "Under our planning, domestic banks will issue 10 thousand billion rials of bonds within next 30 days to attract funds needed for projects."

With regard to fruitful past experiences, it is expected people to welcome new round of offering bonds, the official said.

Referring to the economic impact of South Pars gas field development on growth indices of the country, Souri said: Annual value of each phases of South Pars gas field's products goes beyond 8 billion dollars.

He stated that 10 operational phases of the gas field were producing more than 280 million cubic meters of gas per day currently.

"Upon completion the remaining 19 phases, the volume of gas production will hit more than 800 million cubic meters per day," Souri concluded. irna/281
