Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the ‘uncivilized Zionists’, backed by the global arrogance, seek to sow the seeds of division among religions to salvage themselves.

President Ahmadinejad condemned the arrogance powers’ support of the Zionists’ acts and said,” The uncultured Zionists seek to create division among religions to salvage themselves and the leaders of the global hegemony justify their (Zionists’) acts.”

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a speech at a ceremony marking the 32nd anniversary of eight years of defense against Iraq's imposed war.

He said that the global arrogance plots to impede the nations’ scientific development, stressing “They seek to create sectarian divisions through chicanery while falsely shouting the slogan of [supporting] freedom seeking as well as the freedom of speech and thought.”

The Iranian chief executive said that Iran’s eight-year defense against Iraq’s imposed war was an uprising against the global hegemony.

He criticized the countries claiming to be advocates of human rights for supporting Saddam’s invasion of Iran and said the global powers used all they had in power against Iran and backed the executed Iraqi dictator’s brutal measures, including his use of chemical weapons against the Iranian nation.

Saddam Hussein invaded Iran on September 22, 1980 in a war that dragged on for eight years.

The Sacred Defense Week beginning on the day every year commemorates the braveries of the Iranian soldiers who fought in the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war and defended their country from enemy aggressions.
