Senior Iranian lawmaker Javad Jahangirzadeh says the baseless Western claims about Tehran’s nuclear energy program stem from a serious lack of intelligence sources.

Referring to claims made by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), Jahangirzadeh said that the US and the European Union have definitely realized Iran has no plans to build a nuclear bomb but because of their serious lack of intelligence, they make such allegations.

In a report made available to the Associated Press on October 8, 2012, ISIS claimed that Iran could produce enough weapons-grade uranium to arm a nuclear bomb within two to four months.

Jahangirzadeh said the claims are part of the Iranophobia project which has been in motion for years and which aims to create a negative atmosphere against the Islamic Republic.

Member of Majlis (parliament) presiding board stated that the Zionist lobby is exerting pressure on US intelligence institutions to use their reports to support the baseless anti-Iran allegations made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his speech at the 67th UN General Assembly meeting on September 27, 2012.

Israel is stepping up threats of carrying out a unilateral strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities claiming that Iran's nuclear energy program contains a military component.

However, the US opposes any Israeli military action at the current juncture with presidential elections forthcoming.

Iran has vehemently refuted the allegation, and has promised a crushing response to any military aggression against the country.

The Israeli regime is the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, and has invariably refused to either allow inspections of its nuclear facilities or join Non-Proliferation Treaty.
