Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a telephone conversation with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani's wife, Hiro Ahmed Ibrahim, discussed the latest health conditions of Mr. Talabani.

During the conversation, Mrs. Ibrahim briefed Rahimi about the latest medical treatment of the Iraqi president and gave him first-hand account about her husband's latest medical conditions.

Mrs. Ibrahim said Iraqi and German medical teams have stated that Talabani is now in stable health conditions and improving.

The Iranian first vice-president, for his part, expressed the hoped that President Talabani's physical conditions would improve at the earliest and prayed for his rapid recovery.

President Talabani was transferred to a Baghdad hospital 9 days ago after he suffered stroke. He was transferred to Germany for further medical treatment on Thursday.

Last week, some media outlets alleged that Talabani had died in a Baghdad hospital after the stroke.

Iraq's presidential office denied reports about Talabani's death, saying that "reports about Talabani's death are not true, and his condition is stable."

Also, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki last week discussed the latest health conditions of President Talabani.

During the phone talk at the time, Maliki briefed Ahmadinejad about the latest medical treatment of Talabani.

The Iranian President called Talabani his "revolutionary friend and warrior" and wished him good health.

He also said Iran's skillful physicians are prepared to provide the necessary medical assistance in this regards.
