Presidential hopeful Saeed Jalili has called on his supporters to respect the law and honor the principles of the Islamic Revolution in campaigning for the chief nuclear negotiator.

Jalili, affiliated with the principlist Perseverance Front, said even if he loses his presidential bid, he would still be a winner if his supporters respect the law.

He said the 1979 Islamic Revolution has a lot to offer to Iranians and the Muslim world.

That is why, Jalili added, his future administration would stick to the Islamic Revolution’s goals and principles in both foreign policy and domestic affairs.

Jalili, who is currently secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, stated that his administration would adopt a model of resistance economy to tackle Western sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear energy program.

The top supervisory body, Guardian Council, is vetting hopefuls running for the presidential election. Official campaigning will start two days after the Council releases its final list of approved candidates.

The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election.
