Iran kept its perfect record after first game in Group F with a 102-58 drubbing of India at the MOA Arena in Passay, the Philippines, on Monday.

In the second round of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, the Iranian team will face Bahrain on Tuesday and take on Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

“I asked for my team to play a serious game. I didn’t want them to underestimate any opponent. I want them to be focused, it doesn’t matter who we play,” said Mehmed Becirovic at the post match news conference. “We needed to improve the things we didn’t do well in the first three games. I’m very satisfied with the effort of my players.”

Hamed Afagh top-scored for Iran as he played the most, scoring 16 in 22 minutes.

Iran crushed Malaysia, 115-25, to open its FIBA-Asia campaign on a resounding note last Thursday, then earned the convincing wins over South Korea, 76-65, and China, 70-51 respectively.

The top three teams will represent Asia at the FIBA World Cup to be played in Spain next year.
