Iran coach Ali Doostimehr was delighted with the result against Argentina in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Iran and Argentina drew 1-1 on Saturday in Dubai’s Al-Rashid Stadium in the opening match of the FIFA U-17 World Cup

"I am happy with the result. Argentina is one of the best teams in the world,” Ali Doostimehr said in the post match news conference.

“We could have won the match but in my opinion to get one point is not bad. My boys did their best but they were playing against a great team,” he added.

“All of Group E teams are strong but I think we can qualify for the next stage,” Doostimehr concluded.

Mostafa Hashemi, who celebrated his 17th birthday, put the Iranian outfit into a lead in the first minute of the match with a delightful half-volley from distance. Argentina found its equalizer in the 15th minute through Sebastien Driussi.

Iran will play Canada on Tuesday at the Al-Rashid Stadium and Argentina face Austria.
