Iran Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani is scheduled to travel to Oman to discuss regional and bilateral issues with the senior Omani officials.

Larijani will lead a parliamentary delegation to Oman on Wednesday for a three-day visit.

The visit takes place upon the invitation of Omani Parliament Speaker Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al-Mawali.

During the trip, the Iranian Majlis speaker will meet Oman's ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and other officials of the Persian Gulf state.

Larijani’s meetings with the Omani officials will focus on parliamentary and economic issues and regional cooperation.

The visit will take place two days after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif finished his tour of Oman and two other Persian Gulf littoral states, Kuwait and Qatar.

At a Sunday meeting with Sultan Qaboos, Zarif called for the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Oman in line with Tehran’s policy of furthering ties with neighboring countries.
