Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian warned of enemies’ anti-Islam plots, and called for increased unity among Muslims.

Amir Abdollahian made the remark addressing Ulema and Islamic figures in Conakry, Guinea.

Some are trying to present a wrong picture of Islam, he said, adding the Islamic states should foil these anti-Islam plots.

Amir Abdollahian, heading a delegation, arrived in Conakry on Sunday to attend the 40th Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off on December 9.

OIC is an international organization consisting of 57 member states. The organization states that it is "the collective voice of the Muslim world" and works to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony".

The OIC has a permanent delegation to the United Nations, and is the largest international organization outside the United Nations.
