Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari underscored the necessity for the comprehensive and sustainable development of Iran’s Southeastern coasts and regions.

“Given the remarks of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) about the comprehensive and sustainable development of the country’s Southeastern coasts, the military forces are trying to cooperate and show empathy with the governmental organizations to reach the specified goals in this regard,” Sayyari said in the Southern port of Chabahar on Wednesday.

Iran is located in the international corridor with the Iranian part of the corridor starting in Chabahar in the South and stretching up to the Northeastern city of Mashhad.

Iran's Chabahar port, which is located 72 kilometers West of Pakistan's Gwadar port, holds immense strategic and economic significance for India. Chabahar and Gwadar ports are located in a common coast and they are 70 kilometers away from one another.
