Russia Expects All Influential Parties to Take Part in Geneva II Talks on Syria
Russia expects all parties that could make a positive contribution to finding a solution to the Syrian conflict to take part in the upcoming International Geneva Peace Conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We'll be doing all we can so that the conference helps to arrange dialogue and stop the senseless bloodshed (in Syria)," Putin said at a ceremony on Thursday accepting the credentials of new ambassadors for a number of countries, the Voice of Russia reported.
"The international community's efforts to prepare the conference on Syria should be actively supported," he said.
"We expect all parties capable of making a positive contribution to the conflict settlement to take part (in the conference)," he stressed.
