Zanganeh Meets Head of Oil Firms

Economy - Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh met foreign oil companies’ executives on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Zanganeh told Iran's state-run TV that from the moment the new Iranian government took office, it has focused its efforts on post-sanctions era, and expressed the hope that Iran and the Group 5+1 accord would prove as an irreversible process so that it could pave the way for the country to enjoy its nights in oil sector.

"We have arranged many plans for boosting investment, enhancing recovery rate, technical activities and acquiring a deserved place in world markets, a process that giant oil companies can participate and play a role in it", he noted.

"In Davos, we will sit together with managers of foreign oil companies to explain our plans in face-to-face meetings," Zanganeh concluded.

meanwhile, President Hassan Rouhani said Davos provided a chance for Iran to define its views to the world.

The president made the remarks here Wednesday while talking to IRNA at the airport before leaving Tehran for Switzerland to take part in the 44th Davos economic summit.

He said the meeting is an effective way for Iran to outline its economic views and offer ideas on international and regional developments.

The Iranian President said the event is very important since it hosts politicians, experts, university scholars, managers of worldˈs major economic firms and officials from different countries.

He noted that the world today is in need of both theories and practice in politics.

President Rouhani said that he is going to deliver a speech in Davos and then address a gathering of owners of world-scale businesses as well as the companies active in oil and gas.

According to the President, he is also to hold meetings with the media people and confer with a number of political and economic figures.
