Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. “Iran calls on the Western and some regional countries to stop supporting the militants in Syria,” Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told APA.

Commenting on Geneva II peace talks on Syria, the Ambassador said that success of the Geneva II talks depends on lack of support by some countries to dispatch of terrorists and weapons to Syria

The diplomat said that Iran supports a Syrian-Syrian dialogue: “Unfortunately certain foreign countries tried to get rid of Syrian axis of resistance or to weaken it severely by sending weapons and terrorists to Syria.”

Mohsen Pak Ayeen said that they support the agreement reached between the Syrian government and UN resident envoy for the exit of non-military forces from certain areas of Homes and dispatch humanitarian aid to the area: “Iran believes that the move can help improve humanitarian situation in the area and strip those of attempts to politicize the issue. I hope providing the Syrian people with humanitarian supplies must be accelerated.”
