Head of the Atomic Energy Agency of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi played down Israel’s war rhetoric against Iran, and said the axis of resistance is never fearful of Tel Aviv’s threats.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Wednesday, Salehi pointed to Israel’s intensified war rhetoric against Iran, and said, “Iran and the Resistance have no fear of the Zionist regime and of course this regime does not dare to materialize its threats.”

Salehi, who was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the international conference on The Role of the Muslim World in Power Equations, stressed the necessity for Muslim gatherings, saying such events help strengthen unity and advance collective efforts to overcome the challenges facing the Muslim community worldwide.

He also proposed that a Radio and Television channel be launched to cover such events in a bid to keep the worldwide Muslims informed of the ideas and information exchanged in such meetings.

Earlier this month, Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Qazanfar Roknabadi reiterated that supporting anti-Zionist movements in the region continues to stand atop Iran's agenda, and called for regional political groups' vigilance against the divisive plots hatched by Tel Aviv and its western backers to weaken the resistance front.

Speaking at a meeting with Head of Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement General Michel Aoun, Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, Energy Minister Arthur Nazarian and Minister of Education and Higher Education Elias Abu Saab in Beirut, Roknabadi underscored that Iran attaches vital importance to the issue of resistance against the Zionist regime and the issue has always been considered in Tehran's interaction with different political ideologies and groups in the region.

Roknabadi added that Iran’s touchstone for interaction with different political groups is their support for the resistance front against the occupying regime.

Early in February 2012, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei categorically denied Iran's interference in Bahrain, but meantime stressed Iran's direct involvement in the Palestinian and Lebanese confrontation against Israel, including the Lebanese Summer 2006 33-day resistance against the Zionist regime.

"Wherever Iran interferes, it announces it in a very straightforward manner. For instance, we interfered in confrontations against Israel, which resulted in the (Lebanese) victory in the 33-day war and (Palestinians' victory in) the 22-day (Gaza) war," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing millions of Friday Prayers worshippers on Tehran University Campus at the time.

"In future too, we will support and help everyone who opposes the Zionist regime," the Leader underscored.

"The Zionist regime is a real cancerous tumor that should be cut and will be cut, God Willing," Ayatollah Khamenei underscored.
