Iran parliament members have elected Ali Larijani as Majlis’s speaker for the 7th time today morning.

Larijani who is Qom representative to the Parliament was elected as the Parliament speaker for the 7th time since he resumed office in the parliament as representative in two consecutive 9th and 8thparliaments.

A total of 267 parliamentarians cast their votes today with 187 members voting for Larijani and electing him for the 7th time.

Two other candidates for the speaker’s position in today’s elections were Ahmad Bakhshayesh and Biranvand. They won only 32 and 26 votes out of 264, respectively.

Of the three candidates for deputy positions, Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard and Mohamamd Reza Bahonar were elected.
