An official with the presidential office said that President Rouhaniˈs administration is under pressure from hardliners and that they “want to slaughter the government”.

Morteza Bank added that opponents of the government are employing “all capacities and methods” to create obstacles for the government, said the English-language paper ˈIran Dailyˈ in its Upside/Downside column on Monday.

Bank also criticized the administration of former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for “wasting resources and its mismanagement”.

“Unfortunately the former administration handed over thousands of uncompleted projects to the (President Hassan Rouhani) government despite the existence of $700b,” Bank said.
