European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini said that the solutions agreed in the Swiss city of Lausanne on Thursday will pave the way for Iran and the world powers to strike a comprehensive final nuclear deal in the near future.

"Solutions agreed in Lausanne create a basis of future comprehensive nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers to be concluded by June 30," Mogherini said reading a statement at a joint press conference with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in the Swiss city on Thursday.

Iran and Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) started their new round of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, last Thursday to narrow their differences over Tehran's nuclear energy program ahead of a July 1 deadline.
