Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is to lead the Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Grounds (Mosalla).

As soon as the Leader's Office announces when is the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, Tehran Friday Prayers Headquarters starts its plans on holding the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Yadollah Shirmardi told reporters on Sunday.

Shirmardi, who is the director of the Tehran Friday Prayers Headquarters, made the remarks elaborating on the Headquarters' plans on the issue.

According to the calendar, July 18th will be Eid al-Fitr, said he.

But, he added, if the Leader's Office announces Friday as Eid al-Fitr, the Headquarters is ready to hold the prayer on that day.

About the facilities, Shirmardi said the Tehran Metro will offer free tickets to the

prayers, also 2,500 buses as well as 550 vans will transfer the people.

The Police forces will be present at the scene to organize the event, he said, adding the prayers will also receive free treatment.

Office of the Supreme Leader announced June 18th as the first day of fasting month of Ramadanand the holy fasting month of Ramadan in Iran started on the same day.

The advent of Ramadan may vary from country to country depending on the situation of the moon. Since the new moon is not in the same state at the same time globally, the beginning and ending dates of Ramadan depend on what lunar sightings receive in each location.
