President Hassan Rouhani urged Muslims worldwide to have an even more unified and glorious presence in the international Duds Day rallies.

Talking to reporters after Wednesday morning cabinet session, he called on Muslims worldwide to take part with unity and solidarity in the ceremonies to highlight the plight of Palestinian nation and to call for freedom of the holy Al-Quds.

He urged the Iranian nation to renew their allegiance with the late Imam Khomeini by staging a rally which would signify seven decades of the sufferings by homeless Palestinians.

He said the nation will cry out its support for the oppressed Palestinian nation during the ceremony on Friday.

The International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramazan, initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1979 as a way to express solidarity with the Palestinians and underscore importance of the holy Quds to Muslims. It is also a chance to show Muslims hatred towards atrocities of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation. This year, Quds Day is on Friday July 1.
