According to the spokesman of the drills code-named ‘Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Velayat-6’ Brigadier General Masoud Rouzkhosh, Iranian Air Force’s F-4 bombers hit all the pre-planned targets successfully with the missiles.
The Iranian air force's military drills codenamed 'Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Velayat-6' kicked off in the province of Isfahan in central Iran on Monday.
The Brigadier General had said earlier that a variety of air force fighter jets, fighter bombers, transport planes, reconnaissance aircraft and refueling planes would take part in the military maneuvers.
Reconnaissance drones are also taking part in identifying the region and enemy targets.
In August 2015, a senior Iranian Air Force commander announced that Iran had attained self-sufficiency in overhauling military aircraft despite the sanctions imposed by the Western countries.
'Thanks God and thanks to the Iranian Air Force experts and engineers, we have become self-sufficient in airplane overhauling, pilot training and many other fields,' Head of Shahid Sattari Aviation Science and Technology University Brigadier General Mehdi Hadiyan announced.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential military hardware and defense systems.
Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country's military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country.
