Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the presence of extra-regional forces poses a threat to the Persian Gulf security.

He said the Iraqi people are determined to clean their land from unwelcome presence of Takfiri terrorists who are supported by certain regional countries.

Making the remark Tuesday night while inspecting an exhibition held in this Persian Gulf island, he praised the potential and capabilities of the Iranian navy industries.

He said that the existing scientific capacities in the country make it easy for both the private and state-owned companies both in civilian and military sectors to equip the country with the best facilities it needs.

The 18th International Maritime and Offshore Technologies Conference started work on Tuesday here in the Persian Gulf island of Kish International Exhibitions Center.

Also, the 8th International Maritime and Offshore Technologies exhibition started work on Tuesday night.

The exhibition aims at presenting the latest capabilities and achievements of the active firms in maritime industry, increasing international cooperation and developing maritime industries.

Companies active in offshore industries, oil, fishery, tourism, the environment, oceanology, atmospheric sciences and military industries as well as, training and research vessels are participating in the event.

Some 260 domestic firms and 110 foreign ones from different countries including, The Netherlands, China, Russia, Japan, Italy, Estonia, Romania, Germany, Spain, Britain, Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Belgium, Serbia, Portugal, Azerbaijan, India, UAE, Turkey, Singapore, France, Australia, South Korea and Ukraine took part in the event.
