French Ambassador to Iran François Senemaud said on Tuesday that his country is determined to promote economic ties with Iran requiring regular consultations.

The ambassador made the remarks in a meeting with Khorasan Razavi province Governor General Ali Reza Rashidian.

He said that implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has opened a new chapter for Tehran-Paris relations.

The envoy announced imminent visit to Tehran by French foreign minister, saying, 'In addition to effective cooperation in the field of oil, we are interested in carrying out joint venture investment projects with Tehran.'

He further noted that transportation and oil are strategic areas for promoting bilateral ties.

The ambassador said that Iran-France economic exchanges rose up last year.

He said that they show an increase of 76 percent in the first three months of the current year compared to the figure for the corresponding period last year.

The French envoy welcomed cooperation between private sectors of Iran and France and exchange of students and instructors between Mashad University of Ferdowsi and French universities.

Governor-General of Khorasan Razavi province said for his part that interaction between the two countries has increased since the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was implemented and the 11th government came to power.

Pointing to the efforts of the Government of Prudence and Hope to promote ties with the outside world in cultural, social, economic and political fields, he said that the opportunity should be seized in line with upgrading bilateral ties.

He said that the province boasts of remarkable capacities in the fields of tourism, industry, mines and agriculture and plays a crucial role in the country's economy.

The province is ready to host French tourists and investors in various spheres, he said, calling for exchange of commercial delegations and using the private sectors' capacities in line with promoting economic relations.
