The proposal was presented by visiting Iran's Presidential Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian to the Swedish officials during separate meetings on Friday with Minister of Finance Magdalena Andersson and the Minister of EU Affairs and Trade Ann Linde.
In the meetings, Nahavandian stressed the need for accelerating promotion trend of Tehran-Stockholm relations in a bid to develop a sustainable situation through developing a comprehensive program.
Referring to Iran's golden economic opportunities, Nahavandian said the two countries should finalize the banking talks as soon as possible in order to facilitate economic exchange.
Furthermore, he said the Iranian government intended to attract the maximum level of foreign investment to the country.
For her part, the Swedish minister of EU Affairs and Trade said that her country has planned for promoting economic relations with Iran.
The Swedish minister of Finance, too, said in her meeting with Nahavandian that Stockholm attaches great importance to its ties with Tehran.
Andersson further stressed that Sweden and Iran should make efforts to resume bilateral cooperation as Tehran had been the biggest trade partner for Stockholm before the sanctions' era.
Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January 16, 2016.
Nahavandian visited Sweden on Thursday evening (December 8). Earlier, he visited Switzerland on December 7 to discuss promotion of bilateral banking relations and financial cooperation in meetings with the Swiss president and bankers.
