Defense ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey will hold a meeting in Moscow on December 20 to discuss the latest developments in Syria, particularly the situation in Aleppo.

The decision for holding the trilateral meeting was made following a telephone conversation on Sunday between the Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier-General Hossein Dehqan and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu during which they explored the latest developments in Syria and liberation of Aleppo from the hands of terrorist groups.

Underlining the necessity to immediately lift the siege on al-Foua and Kifraya, the two ministers stressed that fighting Takfiri terrorist groups in Syria has to go on until restoring full security in the country.

The two sides also reiterated that Tehran and Moscow have to continue with their consultations on the ongoing situation on the battlefields in Syria.
