The world at large agrees that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) have extended its maximum support for Iran's neighboring countries against terrorism, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday.

He made the remarks in a ceremony here while commenting on the US efforts to sanction IRGC.

Those efforts have never benefited the US, Zarif stressed.

The ceremony was held to commemorate martyrs of the Foreign Ministry.

Reacting to recent anti-Iran remarks made by the Turkish officials, he said that the fight against terror and extremism in the region requires cooperation and assistance of all countries. “Fanning the fuel of sectarian issues will serve no one.”

Noting that Iran had effective cooperation with Russia and Turkey to ensure ceasefire in Syria, Zarif added, “We hope that our neighbors have understood the benefits of interaction.”

Speaking about the JCPOA, Zarif said that the Iranian negotiating team had gained every advantages in the nuclear deal “on the basis of a stage by stage process and we continued this approach.”

“In most parts, all obstacles have been removed, particularly in the oil and transportation sectors which were two of the three major parts” of the negotiations, said the foreign minister.

Noting that Tehran is also seeking to remove all obstacles one by one in the field of banking relations, Zarif said that more achievements will be made in the future.

The international community has also resisted certain rhetoric heard these days and stressed that the JCPOA has to be maintained, Zarif said.
