Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said enemy employing different tricks tends to separate people from officials.

Pourdastan made the remarks in a ceremony to commemorate 542 martyrs in the northern provincial city of Some'h Sara.

“Enemies are using all within their power and potentials to pose threats to the Iranian borders,” he said.

The commander stressed, “Any country taking measures against Iran, will face its harsh defensive power.”

He said that enemies of the country are using their full capacities to pressure Iran in terms of economic sanctions, terror activities, coup and even overthrowing the government.

Pourdastan pointed to the soft war as being more dangerous than attrition warfare, saying that creating ethnic conflicts between the Shia and Sunni Muslims and infiltrating their unity are top of the enemy's agenda.
