Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Sunday condemned terrorist bombings in Egyptian churches which killed and injured dozens of worshippers.

Qasemi sympathized with the Egyptian government and nation, particularly the families of those killed in the incident.

Iran strongly condemns any aggression against religious places and gatherings and targeting civilians under any pretext, the spokesman said.

He said that such criminal acts are seeking religious seditions and aim to create fear and sow the seeds of discord among the followers of major divine religions.

Neutralizing such plots requires the unity and vigilance of all the regional governments and nations, the spokesman said.
