European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete said on Saturday that due to Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached between Iran and world powers, Iran’s export to Europe has experienced 300 percent growth.

Speaking in the first Iran-European Union Trade Forum on Sustainable energy, he noted that the nuclear agreement prepared the ground for resume of cooperation between Iran and the European Union.

The European commissioner declared Iran’s support for the JCPOA, and noted that Tehran and EU have inked several cooperation documents in 2016 and the volume of trade exchanges between them witnessed 79 percent growth.

He voiced hope for the improvement of cooperation between Iran and Europe in the fields of renewable energies, and said that Europe is ready to transfer experience to Iran in the fields of renewable energies in order to help Tehran generate 30 percent of its energy demand by 2030.

The European companies are ready to invest in Iran’s renewable energies, the official said.
