Iran’s president-elect Hassan Rouhani would be sworn into office at the Parliament (Majlis) on August 6, said a member of the legislative body's presiding board on Tuesday.

“The inauguration ceremony of Iran's 12th President Hassan Rouhani would be scheduled by the Supreme Leader’s Office,” said Ahmad Amirabadi, adding that the ceremony will be most likely held on August 1 or 2.

The president, after being sworn in, would be given a two-week period of time to introduce his cabinet line-up to the Parliament, according to the member of the Parliament.

Within a week since the introduction session, the Parliament would vet the candidate ministers and the vote-of-confidence sessions would be held at the Parliament, he added.

The presiding board has considered four weeks for the swearing in the president and the voting sessions, according to Amirabadi.

Hassan Rouhani overwhelmingly won the presidential election on May 19, sweeping 57% of the vote.
