Yesterday the world, again, witnessed an unusual action taken by US President. Donald Trump proclaimed that United States would withdraw from Paris Climate Accord, which signed by nearly all countries of the world last year in Paris. Everyone knows well that all countries, among them the US, have painstakingly negotiated this accord for years. Protecting the US economic interests, Trump argued, has been the basis of his decision.
Without any intention to discuss, in details, economic features of the matter, it is worthy reminding that in the course of presidential race and now after taking office, Donald Trump has time and again measured all issues and the problems in economic perspectives .Just like a business man he constantly is marketing for his commodities to make the best economic profit. Certainly economy and the politics (in a broad sense) are mutually dependent, however, there must be a balance and the benefits of one should not be oppressed in favor of those of another's. Since, otherwise, the hazardous consequences are not unexpected.
Other than being a controversial populist with maverick characteristics, over the past couple of months, Trump has displayed that despite his age he is neither qualified nor competent to be the president of a powerful country. During his first foreign trip two weeks ago, wherever he dropped in and with any leader he did meet, other than his odd behaviors ,he just estimated costs of and making bills for relations with other countries, defense issues, international commitments or cultural and social concerns( though he does not have any concerns for social and cultural matters).Naturally his strange words and deeds were problematic for other leaders eventually not taking him seriously . This definitely would not serve his constant repeated slogan: "making America great again "and therefore it now seems to be the other way around.
Since January that Donald Trump has taken office, he could not even have put his own house in order. Revelations of briberies, fraudulences on the part of some of his family members and close colleagues as well as several quick appointments and dismissals and the worse, rapid waiving of decisions, all and all has become routine in a perplexed White House .Hence a kind of confusion naturally will be spillover to all other agencies .Eventually all this will adversely affect the US economy and foreign policy. Trump proclaims US withdrawal from Paris accord because of its negative effects on the economy of his country as if his memory is poor or he pretends that he is pretty unaware of the situation. He probably knows that getting out of climate accord will blow greater damages to the United States. Even if he has not a strong memory, he certainly should not forget the destructive tsunamis that hit the South parts of United States just a few years ago, taking several lives and caused billions of dollars damage and losses .Then a republican administration was in office, and everybody knows well that the federal government did not give enough aid to the stricken areas for reconstruction of the wrecked cities and fields. Everybody still can see the effects of the damages of those tsunamis in some parts of Southern states. Having this entire in mind, Paris Accord has been signed by all countries of the world to work out ways and mechanism for prevention and combating the climate change and warming of the earth that ,so to speak, also cause the tsunamis. Therefore the climate change and warming of the earth can blow sever damages to all courtiers and US is not an exception.
So now it is up to US people and particularly Trump's staunch supporters and in fact those who have been tempted by his promises, to ask the president that how come the greatness of America, economic prosperity, welfare, and employment can be realized through sheer mercantilism, deception and isolation? Over the past four months American people have lost great. Should things go this ways God knows what Americans will have to wait for in the course of remaining months or years of Trump tenure of office. As mentioned earlier it is for American people to decide. Though there is an old saying that one may win at any point if he just try to prevent loses.
