Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq telephoned his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani and condemned the terrorist attacks in Tehran.

Expressing solidarity with the people of Iran, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the government and entire nation of Pakistan are standing with their Iranian brethren in the hour of grief.

He said that terrorism has become a global issue and no country is safe from this menace. He stressed the need for joint efforts to fight against terrorism.

Earlier Pakistani government in a statement also condemned the terrorist attacks saying that Pakistan stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in their hour of grief.

In an apparently coordinated attempt, two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning, killing 12 people and injuring 42 more.
