Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in a message to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani extended his condolences on the occasion of Wednesday’s terrorist attacks in Tehran.

'We strongly condemn all acts of international terrorism and extremism, threatening peace and security; Kazakhstan is always ready to continue cooperation with Iran in the struggle against the threats of our times for the sake of peace and security of our countries,” the telegram message said.

The Kazakh president expressed deep regret over “the many deaths and injuries as a result of the terrorist attacks in the country's parliament building and in the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in Tehran”.

Two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomenini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning, killing 17 people and injuring 52 others.

One of the attackers blew up himself outside Imam Khomeini shrine.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.
