Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari invited Iraqi President Fuad Masum to attend President Hassan Rouhani’s oath-taking ceremony due to be held on August 5, 2017, in Tehran.

During his meeting with the Iraqi President on Sunday, Jaberi Ansari conveyed President Rouhani’s congratulations on recent victories of the Iraqi Armed Forces against the Daesh (ISIS) Takfiri terrorists and liberation of the Iraqi city of Mosul, a former stronghold of the terrorist group.

According to the Iranian deputy Foreign Minister, both sides stressed on promoting relations in various fields especially economic ones.

The swearing-in ceremony of Iran's re-elected President Rouhani is to be held on August 5 in Iran's Parliament (Majlis). Many heads of states and top officials from different countries are expected to take part in the event.

Rouhani was re-elected for his second term in the office on May 19, for another four years, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.

Jaberi Ansari heading a delegation arrived in Baghdad and he held talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari on Saturday night.
