Breach of nuclear deal has heavy costs for the violators and Iran is prepared for all options, Iranian Deputy foreign minister said on Friday.

Abbas Araqchi made the remarks in the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan.

The official called the US new sanctions which have been adopted under the pretext of Iran missile program as unacceptable.

'Iran's missile program is merely defensive and for deterrence,' he added.

He underlined that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and G5+1 (US,UK, Russia, China, France plus Germany) have support of the UN 2231 resolution, the international community and the European Union.

Araqchi said: 'Iran is one of the most stable and safest countries of the region and on the contrary with many other governments of the region, people are sources of power of Islamic Republic.'

He called crack down of people by the undemocratic regimes, spread of terrorism and extremism and the Zionist regime atrocities against the Palestinian nation among the region major challenges.

'73 percent turnout of people in Iran's recent presidential election on May 19, 2017 is unprecedented among the regional countries,' Araqchi noted.

He said: 'Takfiri terrorism is now the biggest challenge of the region and endangers the whole world security and stability.'

Fighting this threat needs international consensus and world cooperation, Araqchi added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he called for enhancement of cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo in the post-sanctions era.
