An earthquake measuring 4.3 on Richter scale rocked Sharabian, in East Azarbaijan Province, northwestern Iran, late on Wednesday.

According to Seismological Center of the University of Tabriz, the quake occurred at 21:05 local time (17:35 GMT) at a depth of 12 kilometers.

The epicenter of the quake was registered at 47.1 degrees longitude and 37.88 latitude in an area located 74 kilometers from the provincial capital city of Tabriz.

A local official said that the quake caused no casualties or damage to property and it only disrupted power supply for minutes.

Only walls of several houses sustained cracks due to the earthquake, he added.

Sharabian is located 80 kilometers northeast of Tabriz.
