The Iranian men’s national beach volleyball A team has proudly marched into the quarter-final round of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Tour - Palembang Open in Indonesia, after overcoming the Kazakh side in a tough round of 16 fixture.

On Saturday, the Iranian pair of Rahman Raoufi and Bahman Salemi notched up a 2-0 victory (30-28 and 21-18) amid fight back from Kazakh seeds Alexey Kuleshov and Sergey Bogatu, who were resolutely trying to find a way in the quarter-finals.

The Iranian beach volleyball A team had earlier beaten Hong Kong’s Tsz Ho Kelvin and Pui Lam 2-1 (15-21, 21-13 and 15-12) in a Pool D fixture, and earned a spot in the round of 16.

The Iranian squad is scheduled to play against the Australian B pair, consisting of Joshua Court and Zachery Schubert, in its quarter-final match on Saturday evening.

The AVC Beach Tour - Palembang Open kicked off on October 18, and will finish on October 22, 2017.
