President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in a message extended condolences to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani over the deadly quake in western Iran.

In his message, President Rahmon expressed deep sorrow for the demise of many people and damages in the western provinces of Iran.

The Tajik president expressed his sympathy and extended his condolences to the friendly Iranian nation and wished patience for the bereaved families and prompt cure for the injured people.

A strong earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale jolted western provinces of Iran on Sunday night at 21:48 local time.

The quake was felt in some neighboring states as well.

The latest death toll is 432 dead and 7,817 people have been injured.
