Iran urges lifting banking restrictions under JCPOA

Politics - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif late on Saturday urged full implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal by all the parties, Iran’s enjoyment from its benefits and removing banking restrictions under the deal.

Under the nuclear deal officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran received relief from international sanctions in return for constraints to its nuclear activities.

In a meeting with Chair of the European Parliament’s (EP) group for relations with Iran, Janusz Lewandowski, foreign minister said that European Union is a significant partner to Iran.

During the meeting, Zarif also answered questions posed by some members of the European Parliament on regional developments.

Describing JCPOA as the outcome of patience, endurance and diplomacy of all negotiating countries, he said that results of the JCPOA should be plausible.

During the meeting, both officials also discussed ways for promoting and deepening cooperation between the Islamic Republic and Europe and regional developments.
