Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday the resolution of the economic problems is on the agenda of the Islamic Republic government.

'Resolution of the economic problems and safeguarding the rights of citizens is the government's main agenda,' he said.

The President lauded huge people's turnout in rallies held in support of the Islamic establishment after the recent unrests in Iran.

He urged unity and consensus among people to disappoint enemies.

President Rouhani set a one-week deadline for the Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli to prepare a report on the recent riots and those arrested, injured or killed in the incidents.

After some Iranians took to the streets to protest against unemployment and high prices last week, the protests turned violent in some cases due to the provocation of certain foreign states.

Certain elements penetrated the lines of protestors to drive the peaceful protests towards violence. The US President Donald Trump has overtly supported the rioters in several tweets.
