Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari said on Saturday the country's investment in industrial sector has increased by 23 percent since the beginning of current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2017).

In spite of the limits, the Islamic Republic has managed to flourish in industrial sector in recent years, he said addressing a local gathering in Karaj, capital of Alborz Province, west of Tehran.

Shariatmadari added that over 50 percent of the country's production units are active at above 50 percent of production capacity.

For instance, he added, over 1,256 operating licenses were issued last year in Alborz Province which is the seventh industrial hub of Iran.
