Vice-President and Head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Mohammad Ali Najafi left Tehran for Spain to participate in the 34th International Tourism Fair, FITUR.

Najafi, who left Tehran for Madrid on Tuesday, is slated to confer with Spanish prime minister and secretary-general of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) during his stay in Spain.

In the meantime, Najafi will meet Spanish minister of industry, energy and tourism on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of FITUR.

On the first day of his visit to Spain, Najafi will take part in a press conference to brief reporters on issues concerning his mission.

Iran has taken part in several international tourism fairs such as Caucasian international tourism fair in Georgia in 2011 and the 2012 Borsa International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Italy.

Organized by IFEMA, the 34th edition of this trade fair is set to be held from January 22 through 26, 2014 at FERIA DE MADRID.

Visitors can also get familiar with traditions of different countries and watch folkloric performances in new interactive and cultural spaces at the event.

FITUR is progressing hand in hand with the tourist industry, implementing an entire series of tools that enable the show to promote innovation and sustainability.
