Iran’s minister of interior has said government has tracked the terrorists and whereabouts of the abducted border guards.

Abdurreza Rahmani Fazli who was speaking in his last press conference with reporters today morning in the interior ministry, told reporters that they expected good news about 5 abducted border guards. Asked what measures the government had taken to release the hostages, Fazli told that “we see these border guards as our own children and feel that we are members of the same family.”

“We have tracked the terrorists and informed the Pakistani authorities of their whereabouts through official and unofficial channels and we hope that these measures result in the release of hostages,” he asserted.

“They initially denied the very existence of hostages; however, we provided them with the information as to whereabouts of the terrorists and hostages,” Rahmani Fazli told the press.

He also said that all government parts including foreign minister, president, and also Parliament speaker and military commanders had done their quota of the task and that “we expect to receive good news soon.”

Asked about the public support through SMS service and the UN’s intervention, Rahmani Fazli told that such activities were international organizations’ duties when the lives of humans were at stake. “While they claim defenders of human rights, they have not taken any reaction toward the hostage issue,” he added.
