Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak in meeting with Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi underlined the upcoming visit of President Hassan Rouhani to Moscow will pave the way for a stride in mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei was present as well, Vaezi said 29 important documents were signed in joint economic commission so far and added that necessary infrastructures to reach a comprehensive cooperation is prepared now.

Head of the Iranian side of joint economic commission called 80 percent growth in trade exchanges between Iran and Russia in year 1395 (Iranian calendar) in comparison with 1394 acceptable, but underlined that capabilities of the two countries are much more than this.

Novak, who is head of Russian side of the commission, and had visited Iran several times in the current Iranian year, expressed hope that by execution of the signed documents, effects of the comprehensive growth to be evident in mutual ties.

Vaezi also met with Russian Federation Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nicolai Nikiforov on Monday morning and in the meeting signing of a cooperation pact in the field was agreed upon.

Head of the Iranian side of commission, who is in Moscow to plan for summit meeting, also met and discussed issues of mutual interests with Russian Federation First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

Presidents of Iran and Russia have met six times in different occasions, including in the UN General Assembly meeting, so far.
