Under the pretext of preventing the escalation of tensions in the region, following Iran's legitimate defense against the aggressive act of the Zionist regime, the UK regime sanctioned Brigadier Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, the Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces of Iran, along with a number of personalities and military institutions of the Islamic Republic.

On Thursday, the British Prime Minister's Office issued a statement announcing that it has added 7 Iranian individuals and 6 entities involved in Operation True Promise to its list of sanctions.

According to this statement, the general staff of the armed forces, the navy of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the central staff and the commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya base, a number of members of the aerospace organization, in addition to the Iranian defense minister, have been added to the list of sanctions.

The aforementioned statement stated that the British sanctions were implemented in coordination with the United States of America, "in response to Iran's direct attack against Israel (the Occupied Territories) on April 14."

These sanctions were raised during the presence of British Foreign Minister David Cameron at the Group of Seven summit in Italy.
