Islamabad has been adorned with banners and large pictures of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi ahead of his official visit to Pakistan.

Hundreds of portraits of President Raisi and Pakistani leaders can be seen in the main squares and streets of Islamabad, along the route from the airport to the Iranian delegation'ls residence, as well as in front of the presidential and prime ministerial palaces.

Iranian flags have also been hoisted on the main streets and thorough fares along with Pakistani flags.

President Raisi, heading a high-ranking delegation, is due in Pakistan on Monday for an official two-day visit focusing on bilateral political and trade ties.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

President Raisi will also travel to the cities of Lahore and Karachi.
