The Arabic language Russia Today channel quoted two Hamas officials as saying that the resistance movement does not have any plan to move its political bureau out of Qatar and find another hosting country.

The two officials went on to say that the movement is keen on bolstering ties with Turkiye and receiving the country’s direct aid to Palestinians.

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh arrived in Istanbul on Saturday to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish presidential office announced the two sides discussed a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the need for delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged strip.

The Wall Street Journal claimed that Hamas had held talks with at least two countries in the region to pave the ground for relocating its political bureau.

It also alleged that the decision was made after Egypt and Qatar put pressure on the movement to reduce their conditions for negotiations with the Israeli regime on a truce in Gaza.

The WSJ also wrote that the negotiations on the Gaza ceasefire and the release of Israeli captives may fail to bear fruit if Hamas leaves Qatar.
