Abdul Karim Sharqi made the remark in a meeting with Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Tuesday, IRNA reported.
He described resistance as the only way for the Palestinians to restore their rights and liberate the occupied lands.
Experience has shown that any negotiations or compromise with Israel has inflicted heavy damage on the Palestinians, the Palestinian official said.
In the meeting, Larijani also identified Iran’s support of the Palestinian nation as the focal point in the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy, adding that the Iranian nation’s sense of solidarity with the Palestinians is deeply rooted in history.
Referring to the revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa, Iran’s top parliamentarian said the popular uprisings have provided a significant potential support for the Palestinian nation.
He also underlined the reinforcement of resistance against Israel as the only way for the Palestinians to attain their rights and materialize their cause.
