The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoy very high power and capabilities to counter any threat, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Friday.
He added that the Iranian Army constantly monitors enemies’ threats against the Islamic Republic and “advances its capabilities to match the level of such threats.”
Pourdastan stated that the Armed Forces enjoy the highest level of military preparedness.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Washington and Tel Aviv have time and again threatened Tehran with a military strike against its civilian nuclear facilities.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
